Romania's Presidential Campaign Marred By Spam Runs

A new low has been reached in what is already being called "the dirtiest electoral campaign in Romania's post-revolutionary period".

Waves of spam messages have appeared, purporting to support both candidates remaining in the race – Mircea Geoana and Traian Basescu.

The message in support of Traian Basescu tries to convince recipients that the incumbent president has not, in fact, stricken a child in 2004 during a rally, while the one in support of Mircea Geoana purports to be an open letter from the candidate himself.
